Title: Remote Public Relations / Media Outreach Assistant for Beach Town Pops (LA experiential freeze pop brand)

Role:

We’re looking for a remote Full Time Public Relations / Media Outreach Specialist (Philippines or elsewhere welcome) with real PR experience only—no general VAs unless their background is strictly in earned media. Your focus will be: crafting and pitching press outreach, building targeted media lists (food, lifestyle, experiential marketing, LA & national), and helping secure coverage for seasonal activations, collaborations, and brand moments.


Key responsibilities:

Write and distribute concise, compelling press releases and media pitches.

Build and maintain a media contact list tailored to lifestyle/F&B/brand activation coverage.

Conduct personalized outreach to journalists, bloggers, and relevant outlets.

Follow up, track responses, and summarize progress in a simple report.

Propose angles or hooks to increase pickup and relevance.


Must-have qualifications:

Demonstrable public relations experience (earned media placements, sample outreach, campaign summaries).

Strong written communication—must provide:

One past example of a placement or outreach win.

A mini writing sample: draft a brief pitch (2–3 paragraphs) for a “summer pop-up freeze pop activation in LA” promoting Beach Town Pops.

Comfortable doing outreach via email and managing the cadence (cold and warm).

Use of ChatGBT is required.

Proactive: suggests new story angles, doesn’t wait to be told next step.


Trial task (paid):

Create and execute a mini PR outreach:

Build a list of 8 relevant LA/lifestyle outlets.

Draft a press pitch for a summer pop-up.

Send outreach and deliver a one-page summary of responses or next steps.

Goal: Secure at least one meaningful conversation or follow-up interest.


Compensation:

Paid trial

If a fit: ongoing part-time retainer or hourly with clear KPIs.
